yes, i found out the date.. Day 4 in Beijing… went to Summer Palace, this is the place for the emperor to stay during summer… apparently the “main” Palace that’s in the heart on Beijing was too hot for the empress during the summer…  *sweat*  it’s true…

Now i shall teach you how to eat Peking duck…

1st. you eat the skin (reminds me of suckling piglet) Yummy!

The chef will slice the duck in front of you

place a "popiah skin"

add in a slice of the meat and a some "sweet" sauce

then you may add in as many strips of leek and onion to it

wrap it the way you would wrap the normal kinda popiah. & Voila!

The waiters actually “performed” the steps of eating Peking duck to us upon my aunty’s request. Then hor, that waiter was going to feed me some more, so paiseh lar, but because he was standing in such an odd position i gestured him to just put in on my plate… btw, the step by step instructions above is done by me, the waiter didnt even wrap as nicely as i did… HAHAHA!

OH! you got to ask them to give you the sisa of the duck, with it you can boil a pot of soup or even cook porridge… aint joking!

… i was in Beijing. Ah, the cold weather; the strong breeze; my uncle’s mansion; his very playful dogs: Harry and Potter, still remember me screaming when i saw Harry running towards me when i first arrived at his house… hmmm… i am still trying to figure out the date i flew there… Time flies… Beijing is really not bad afterall… oh yea, and… HAHAHA, i am still not done blogging about my Beijing trip until today, been lazy and procrastinating.

Where did i stop? i think neither of us remember… hahaha, i think it’s Day 2.

So, Day 3: (will keep it short and simple, after all, this is not something new, am just writing for records sake )

Soya. The best i have tasted... in Beijing.

Not bad at all~!!! the price? about the same as McD for one set: 1 cup of soya + Yoo Tiao + mee or rice.

This is The Garden… yea, if i remember correctly, this huge place was the emperor’s garden… How lavish huh? and of course, in this garden there are also 殿 ”halls”…

Come to think of it, their ancient buildings are all more or less the same. The edges of the roofs must have those thingies – little tiny creatures (sorry, didnt take any close up photos of their roofs) those are to guards to shoo demons away. And their doors had… erm, dont know how to describe (no photo either), if you’ve watched chinese dramas you would have noticed that they have to cross the barrier that’s at the bottom of the door, those “bariers” is to prevent ghosts from entering their premises.

Not joking, their old people senior citizens are very active… so health-conscious! Might be old in age but definitely not physically… fuiyoh~

i like the feel of the photos taken in the garden… anyone might just think that i was in some ang mo countries… LOL!  Haih~ how i wish i had a DSLR… that would be awesome!

alrite for for dinner, it was in some hakka restaurant at some really weird place, it like an alley a VERY dark one… but the restaurant has some really nice n comfy settings…

Erm, nolah, chicken was not the only dish, was too hungry to snap anymore photos… hahaha…

For 2 reasons there will not be alot of photos in this post: 1, wordpress is not capable of handling bloggers who have many photos to upload. To blame it all on wordpress would be too unfair for wordpress, but i think internet connection is also another contributing factor! 2, I didnt take enough of solo pictures to be uploaded in my blog.

okie here we go… my aunty is a VERY organized person, she planned our itinery and made sure we followed. But with people like me and my sis around, her plan was delayed by at least 30 minutes almost every other day. Not entirely our fault lur, we (exclude my parents, pls) just couldnt get ourselves to wake up, bathe (which is unneccessary to bathe in the morning in cold climate country!), dress and be down for breakfast at 8:30am!

So on tuesday (28th/10/2008) we left the house at about 9:30am together with my uncle. We were going to the Forbidden City, just opposite the Maoseleum. There was a long que to enter the Mao Ze Dong building, It seems that this great man of china is very vain, that is why he requested his body to be embalmed, we didnt enter cos we thought it’s not worth the hassle…

Anyway, the Forbidden city (故宫) is right in the center of Beijing and it is HUGE! My uncle left us to walk alone while he went off to work. After walking for nearly 2 hours, we stopped by for a break, and it was quite hard to find a proper rest area that sells proper meals, they only have 小吃, we ended up eating tidbits for lunch.
