Lethargic
i am now sitting here in the library waiting for peggy and san to finish their expo assignments. well, i have been paying frequent visits to the library lately because the deadline for thesis presentation is almost up. URGH!!! what have i been doing all these while?
Anyway, i think i am almost 77 88 done with my chapter2. Crossing my fingers and praying hard that Prof would find it acceptable. Come to think of it, maybe i should borrow books on Communication Theories. yea, maybe i should do just that on my next visit to the library. Why am i not doing it right now? I dont know lah~ just am too tired to walk anymore, need to save the remaining energy in me to walk to my car and drive myself home. @.@
i am soooo hungrie… i have a feeling by the time i reach home, i would be full already. @.@
Tired. so many things still undone! *sigh* suddenly i feel that this is the way a university student’s life should be. bleuk~!
Finishing School
For the past 2 days i have been going to this programmes for final sem students called “finishing school”. It’s said to be very boring and a sheer waste of time. But after experiencing it myself, i think it’s not that bad as it was said to be. However, i do find the activities on the first day to be tiiny weeny more interesting. It’s still very tiring to have to be there the whole day, from 8am-5pm! But everyone has to undergo this programme so I’ve just got to do what i’ve got to do. So now i am done with finishing school! YAY!
Today is not really a good day, i am having mood swing, and today is DEFINITELY not that day where i can tolerate to be intimidated and insulted.
anyway, i just remember i have not replied someone’s sms yet… and i have neglected pet society for 2 days…
wonders of green tea
saw these tips on Yahoo, so am writing this in my blog to help me remember them…
Green tea reduces puffy eyes – Soak a cotton pad in green tea & place it over the eyes for 10 min, hmph, maybe i can put that eye mask (joee gave) on top of it?
Green tea can soothe skin – Place (cooled) green tea in a spray bottle and mist on sunburned area. Can also be used as an antiseptic to spray on skin blemishes or irritations.
Green tea can soothe sore throats – Gargle with green tea to soothe a sore throat.
Green tea is even good for the feet – Soak tired feet in green tea can prevent unpleasant fungal infections.
I dont believe it’s all good about drinking green tea…
Tea shouldnt be drank too much, cos it tea has caffeine in it, it can cause insomnia, and it increases urine production, and a book wrote that the body will try to retain as much water as it can to prevent dehydration thus resulting in weight gain. LOL.
Why must there always be pros and cons to everything? Haih~ i guess there’s always 2 sides to a coin huh…
The KEY – MODERATION! not too much not too little. NGAM NGAM!
Attention: Milk Lovers!!!
Have you ever seen a human nursing off a cow? No? Think again…
I just found out the cow’s milk is not doing any good to human bodies. It is said:” The Enzymes necessary to break down and digest milk are renin and lactase. They (the enzymes) are all gone by the age of three in most humans. There is an element in all milk known as casein. There is three hundred times more casein in cow’s milk than in human’s milk. Casein coagulates in the stomach and forms large, tough, dense, difficult-to-digest curds that are adapted to the four-stomach digestive apparatus of a cow. This thick mass of goo puts a tremendous burden on the body to somehow get rid of it, huge amount of energy is spent in dealing with it. Unfortunately, some of this gooey substance hardens and adheres to the lining of the intestines and prevents the absorption of nutrients into the body.”
okay, you say Milk is you source of calcium, right? conitnue reading then…
“Calcium in cow’s milk is much coarses than in human’s milk, and is tied up with casein. This prevents the calcium from being absorbable. Second, most milk-drinkers and cheese-eaters consumer pasteurized, homogenized, or otherwise processed products. This processing degrades the calcium, making it very difficult to utilize.
…calcium’s role in the human body is to neutralize acid in the system. and All dairy products except butter are extremely acid-forming. The irony is that ppl are consuming dairy products for calcium, and the existing calcium in their body is being used to neutralize the effects of the dairy products they are eating.”
Don’t panic and start running around like a headless chicken, “the fact is that all green leafy vegetables contain calcium (cows eat grass for their strong bones not milk wert ;b). All nuts (raw) contain calcium. And raw sesame seeds contain more calcium than any other food on earth. Also most fruit contains ample calcium. If you are eating fruits and vegetables daily and some raw nuts occasionally, you cant have a calcium deficiency.”
So, back to my 1st question, everyone of us (except for those who has never ever drank cow’s milk before) have seen or even been sukling milk from a cow~!
I have not been drinking milk for some time now… because i wanna stay healthy… and lose more weight, after all this book is all about losing weight and eating right.
part of the above post are extracted from “Fit For Life”.
the naked truth
I was doing abit of clearing up things in my living hall, found a few really old magazines (ezyhealth), flipped them through, read only those articles that caught my attention… and i found this:
“Good diet will not get rid of cellulite but a bad diet will worsen it. If you diet and lose weight, it is the deeper fat deposits that lessen, not the trapped globules of fat near the surface that cause cellulite. In fact, merely losing weight can make the cellulite more obvious, leading some women to despair.
The same thing happend with vigorous exercise. So going on a diet and exercising is certainly not a cellulite cure, despite the fact that this is the first thing most doctors tell women to do.
Neither will massage work, with the possible exception of “lymphatic” massage, conducted by an expert, to help with lymphatic drainage and reduce fluid retention. In fact, all the other “hard” massage techniques like swedish massage, shiatsu and the like can actually damage and weaken the skin structure, again exacerbating the build-up of cellulite.
The only way to fight cellulite is from within, by improving microcirculation, thus allowing the body to begin metabolising the trapped fat, and by draining “interstitial” fluid that builds up between fat cells.”
anyway, this mag contradicted itself, just the page before the above article, in another article, it’s written almost all the opposite of the above. @.@ Interesting mag, don’t u think?
where do i start?
I have so many many things to write about my trip to Beijing, where shall i begin?
mmm, i think i will start by introducing abit of Beijing…
Did You Know that
1. Beijing does not have motorbikes? It’s ILLEGAL. According to my aunty, this is to prevent snatch thefts! i think this is great, and it should be implemented in Msia too. Not only will it reduce the number of snatch thefts it will also curb mat rempit’s activities (in msia), plus, dont you think many of the accidents on the road are due to motorists zig-zagging/criss-crossing?
2. Cost of taking public transport is VERY CHEAP! for taxi it’s RMB 2.00 per KM; bus, RMB 0.40 (if you have a card similar to our touch n go, if not it would be RMB 1.00) to anywhere in Beijing! and their taxis’ and buses’ drivers have uniforms! They look really professional, another thing is that their vehicles look clean and new!
3. The structure (don’t know what other words to use) of beijing is very organize, (pola terancang, if i remember my form 1 geography correctly) mmm… i was thinking hard for the past few days on how i should explain this, then i suddenly thought of onion… well, communication students would know about the “onion” theory (LOL. the real name is penetration theory). What I am trying to say here is that Beijing has 6 (i think) rings, something like an onion, a circle surrounded by another circle, you get what I mean? this was planned and executed centuries ago by don’t know which dynasty. Right in the center is where the Palace is (thus, where the emperor was), to conquer the heart of beijing (the emperor) the enemy must first break down all the walls/barriers surrounding it. Understand? Nvm, i will move on from here…
4. Beijing is slightly bigger than Singapore, but it has more than 10 millions of ppl! my aunty said even a town has 1 million penduduk, i cant imagine kajang has 1 million penduduk. Btw, what’s penduduk in english? -.-lll well, you would think that beijing would be so cramped with ppl, instead of traffic jam there would be ppl jam, but i didnt feel it all. in fact, i dont see that MANY ppl… emm… maybe it’s like that many ppl walking around sungai wang, lot 10 that area??? don’t know lah… and it takes sooooo loong to reach a place from another in Beijing, but it only takes about 45 – 50 minutes to drive through singapore!
5. Drivers in Beijing are ganas, you dont have to wait for the traffic light, just go if there is no car! but i think they are not that strict with traffic rules at the outskirt of beijing, which is the 4th layer and above. And they like to swirve in and out, and surprisingly no one is honked for that reckless behaviour! FYI, their is LHD (left-hand drive) and do not simply honk ppl, cos you cannot be sure of the status of the driver you honk, he or she might be someone in the society! (by that i mean DAI LOU or DAI LOU’s girls, get what i mean?)
6. Every car owner has to sacrifice 1 day of driving during the weekdays, depending on his car number plate. This is to reduce polution and also to ease traffic congestion. number plates ending with 1 or 6 cannot drive on Monday; 2 or 7 on Tuesday; 3 or 8 on Wednesday… well, you get the picture! i feel msia should do the same too! We should not wait for the polution to worsen then only take action, prevention is better than cure wert! further more, the traffic jam is terrible in msia! the traffic in beijing is sooo smooth, their traffic jam is so not stressful at all, although there were many many cars on the road but they were moving… slowly (maybe around 30/40 km per hour?) but steadily… @.@
yeala, let’s practice this trend among ourselves la, ok? let’s see, 1st thing 1st, what’s my car’s number plate ah?
7. they too have BIG important exam, it’s like our PMR, but theirs is very important, they must really score (as in FULL As because of its HUGE population) in order for them to get a place in prestigious high school. the thing is, once you got into any of these prestigious high school, scholarship is given to u automatically, if you are not chosen, then mostly likely, that is the end of ur education, because no commoner can afford for that kinda of education… oh oh oh, the craziest thing i have heard is that, they study SEVEN DAYS A WEEK!!!!! Tujuh hari seminggu! from norning till night!! goodness me!
8. Typical Beijing ppl are thin thin tall tall, if you are not from the bei fang then they qiao bu qi ni!
well, yea, that’s about it… that is all i can remember about the interesting facts i learnt about Beijing… at least for now. rest assured that this is certainly not the end of my post on Beijing trip. Well, at least it’s a good start.
Water
so, have you chosen your answer???
aiyak~ where should i write my answer to this question???
